FOUNDER'S STORY

From a Classroom Insight to a Mission of Building Life-Ready Learning for Every Generation

Through Founder’s Lens

How The Smart Edge was born?

Amit PhullFounder and CEO

I have always believed that education is the greatest gift one can give to society.
It is even more powerful than feeding a hungry person—because while food sustains life for a day, education transforms lives for generations.

The idea for The Smart Edge was born inside a classroom, not a boardroom. During my corporate journey at a university, I spent time interacting with bright, ambitious students. They had knowledge—but not readiness. Degrees—but not confidence. Education was telling them what to think, not how to apply.

This wasn’t a failure of students.
It stemmed from a major gap in the system.

As I looked deeper, I realised this gap didn’t end with students. It followed learners into college, into their first jobs, and even into professional careers—where upskilling often remained fragmented, theoretical, or disconnected from real-world needs.

The National Education Policy became a powerful turning point. It validated a belief many of us already held: learning must move beyond rote memorisation to skills, experience, and real-world capability. That belief turned into intent—to build something that could truly bridge education and employability across schools, colleges, and large corporate organisations.

Along with two trusted partners who believed in the problem as deeply as I did, The Smart Edge was born—not just as a platform, but as a first-of-its-kind, fully integrated Skill-Tech ecosystem. One designed to support learners at every stage—young students discovering their strengths, college learners preparing for careers, and working professionals continuously upgrading their skills to stay relevant.

At its core, The Smart Edge is a movement—focused on making education meaningful, empowering, and life-ready, while aligning learning with real career pathways and future opportunities.

Because when you educate well, you don’t just change one life—
you change families, communities, and the future of a nation.

Co-Founders

Saurabh ChatterjeeCo-Founder & Enabler-in-Chief

Saurabh brings to The Smart Edge a deep belief that true empowerment comes from capability, not control. His strength lies in enabling people—students, educators, institutions, and working professionals—to become independent thinkers and confident decision-makers in a rapidly evolving world.

At TSE, Saurabh plays a critical role in shaping an end-to-end upskilling ecosystem that serves learners across stages—from school classrooms to college campuses and large corporate organisations. He ensures that every programme, platform feature, and partnership is built with practical relevance, usability, and real-world application at its core.

His approach to technology and learning is purpose-driven—not to complicate education, but to simplify access, scale impact, and democratise skill development across diverse learner groups. Under his enablement-first mindset, TSE continues to evolve as a platform that turns learning into actionable capability.

Sampann ChaudhuryCo-Founder & Technology Visionary

Sampann is the architect behind the technology that powers The Smart Edge’s fully integrated skill-tech platform. A true visionary technologist, he sees technology not as infrastructure, but as a living ecosystem designed to continuously unlock human potential.

His role is to ensure that tse remains robust, scalable, and future-ready, capable of supporting learners across schools, colleges, and enterprise environments. Sampann brings depth, structure, and long-term thinking—designing platforms that grow with learners as their needs evolve across age groups, career stages, and professional contexts.

Under his leadership, TSE’s technology backbone enables experiential learning, lifelong upskilling, and AI-driven assessment solutions—making learning measurable, personalised, and outcome-oriented for both students and professionals.

Three Belief Systems. One shared mission.

While Amit drives purpose and human readiness, Saurabh enables execution and adoption, and Sampann builds the scalable backbone that sustains long-term impact.
